Navy Seal Tribute

I thought this was amazing how (the end of the video) the fellow Navy Seal put there medal on the coffin. It added to the wet eye syndrome.

Of Flags and Patriots

A story soon to break on the NET. Boy Scouts rescued dozens and dozens of U.S. Flag left on the grounds of the Democratic National Convention. The McCain Palin tour is in Colorado Springs (CO.) where the Boy Scouts are going to present these rescued flags (video of the presentation of Ol' Glory surely to come). Again, Democrats, especially their base, are not concerned with what our history is. They are not proud of it... America (in their minds eye) is the cause of many of the world’s ills. I have pointed out in past blogs this almost Anti-Americanism sentiment inherent in the Democratic Party.

The first day of the RNC was fun but muted. One group, though, wasn’t deterred from pursuing its agenda by events in the Gulf. The Communist/anarchist/truther/pro-Obama protesters were out in force, committing various crimes and attempting to disrupt the proceedings.

The most shocking events are described by Jim Hoft, who was on a bus that was attacked from above when a group of protesters dropped sand bags on to the top of the bus. This is attempted murder: if the protesters had succeeded in hitting the windshield, a sand bag would have crashed through and killed the driver. The resulting accident would have killed or injured others on the bus. To my knowledge, the left-wingers/would-be murderers were not caught.

A little later, a busload of Cub Scouts were en route to the convention, where they were to present the colors to open the convention. A group of protesters–liberals, Obama supporters, or whatever–blocked the road, surrounded the bus, and attacked it, rocking the bus back and forth, denting and scratching the sides, and generally terrifying the children trapped inside. The left-wing protesters attacked a number of buses in the same way, but there is something especially despicable about attacking a group of Cub Scouts.

Among us conservatives, it’s pretty much an article of faith that people of all political persuasions are good folks who should be treated with respect; we just disagree about issues of public policy. (Liberals generally don’t adopt that view, although there are some honorable exceptions.) But sometimes that model doesn’t apply. The liberal/anarchist/Communist/pro-Obama protesters we have seen today in St. Paul are terrible people who, in many cases, should be subject to long prison terms. Let’s hope that a few of them, at least, are prosecuted.

Great PUMA Interview (must see!)

A must see video interview of two PUMAs (Party Unity My Ass). These two gals were on their way home from the DNC in Denver and heard the attacks on Sarah Palin. They flipped a “PUMA” in their RV and high tailed it to the RNC. AMAZING interview!

Sammy Wilson
Sammy Wilson's view on climate change has angered environmentalists

The Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has angered green campaigners by describing their view on climate change as a "hysterical psuedo-religion".

In an article in the News Letter, Mr Wilson said he believed it occurred naturally and was not man-made.

"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," said the minister.

Peter Doran of the Green Party said it was a "deeply irresponsible message."

Mr Wilson said he refused to "blindly accept" the need to make significant changes to the economy to stop climate change.

"The tactic used by the "green gang" is to label anyone who dares disagree with their view of climate change as some kind of nutcase who denies scientific fact," he said.

The minister said he accepted climate change can occur, but does not believe the cause has been identified.

"Reasoned debate must replace the scaremongering of the green climate alarmists."

John Woods of Friends of the Earth said Mr Wilson was "like a cigarette salesman denying that smoking causes cancer".

"Ironically, if we listen to him Northern Ireland will suffer economically as we are left behind by smarter regions who are embracing the low carbon economy of the future."

It is the latest clash between Mr Wilson and green groups since his appointment as environment minister in June.

Polls

I will only use polls that use likely voters from this point forward.

Rasmussen Tracking

09/02 - 09/043000 (4846 Likely Voters)

Obama 48 // McCain 46

From a “comment section” a few blogs ago:

Rasmussen Tracking
08/31 - 09/02 ~ 3000 (Likely Voters): McCain 45 Obama 50 = Obama +5

Gallup Tracking
08/30 - 09/01 ~ 2772 (Registered Voters): McCain 42 Obama 50 = Obama +8

(Likely voters are people who vote regularly. Registered voters are just that, registered to vote, a broader category.) “If you look at the six polls up at Real Clear Politics, there is a huge difference between polls looking at likely voters and those that look at registered voters. For likely voters, Obama is ahead by 1.3 percentage points. For registered voters, Obama is ahead by 5 percentage points.” (posted by John Lott on 7-29-08)
