I was listening to Dennis Prager today and he had the author of Bottlemania on, Elizabeth Royte. There were a few calls here and there, but no one really asked the question I wanted to ask her, which is:
Is there a filter system, such a Britta or another system that removes fluoride from tap water?
Why fluoride? You may ask. It is simple, I think we ingest too much of it on a daily basis... as it is put in many items. Baby toothpaste is not fluoridated for a reason. The warning label in fact on toothpaste reads as follows:
As detailed in this ABC News Story, over 600 (now over 1,200) professionals are urging Congress to stop water fluoridation until Congressional hearings are conducted. They cite new scientific evidence that fluoridation, long promoted to fight tooth decay, is ineffective and has serious health risks. Signers include a Nobel Prize winner, three members of the prestigious 2006 National Research Council (NRC) panel that reported on fluoride’s toxicology, two officers in the Union representing professionals at EPA headquarters, the President of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment, and hundreds of medical, dental, academic, scientific and environmental professionals, worldwide. (First aired: August 9, 2007)
Hi - thanks for your note and for listening to that interview. I believe a Doulton ceramic filter removes fluoride, as will a reverse osmosis unit.
All best,
Elizabeth
Good to know!
